Kojima Productions files for a few Death Stranding-related trademarks

Death Stranding developer Kojima Productions has applied for new trademarks in Japan.

A Twitter bot for the Japanese Patent Office published tweets uncovering two trademarks filed for by Kojima Productions. They don't specifically mention Death Stranding by name, but it's hard to shake how they're connected.

The trademarks are Strand Game, and Social Strand System. They were both filed on January 24 under video game, downloadable game and other attributes related to game services at the JPO.

It's not yet clear what they could be referring to, but the developer is more than likely trademarking major game features in Death Stranding. Mads Mikkelsen, who plays the main antagonist, previously stated that Death Stranding will feature systems that require collaboration of players around the world.

The Strand System could be what the actor was referring to. We know very little about what Death Stranding actually is, despite the game's many trailers. Gameplay remains a complete mystery to most, which is why fans are anxious for any piece of news they can get their hands on.
