EA has announced a release date for the animated film, Dead Space: Aftermath, on Blu-ray and DVD.

It will hit stores on January 24 in Europe and January 25 in the US.

The general price of the Blu-ray edition is $34.99, but you can shop around and get it cheaper. Amazon US has it listed for $25.99 at the moment.

Aftermath was created by the same folks who made Dante's Inferno: An Animated Epic, and includes the voices of Christopher Judge (Stargate SG-1) and Peter Woodward (Babylon 5, Fringe).

The plot revolves around the aftermath of the first responder mission to the Aegis VII in Dead Space. It will provide a bit of back story to Dead Space 2 which releases on January 25 in the US and January 28 in Europe.

The graphic novel, Dead Space: Salvage, pictured above, is out now.

Thanks, Eurogamer.
