Monster Hunter 3 for 3DS and Xbox One exclusive Dead Rising 3 were the big performers for Capcom in the latter half of 2013, but they couldn't stop the Japanese publisher from recording a profit drop of 10 percent for the 9 months ended December 31st.

Profits for the period were 5.9 billion yen ($57m), while sales were up 3.5 percent to 75.2 billion yen ($737 million), with the declines attributed to a comparison to last year's Resident Evil 5 performance.

Dead Rising 3 has sold over 1 million copies in Europe and North America, while Monster Hunter 4 has sold 4 million copies in Japan alone.

Other highlights from the company include Dragons Dogma: Dead Arisen. Sales of Phoenix Wright: Dual Destiny and Resident Evil Revelations just hit targets, said Capcom.

Browser games Onimusha Soul is performing well in Taiwan, according to Capcom, and Ducktails: Remastered beat expectations in the West.

Another highlight was that sales of digital DLC for Capcom are 10 percent higher in the 9 months than expected for the whole financial year.
