Dead Rising 2: Inafune confirms "thousands" of on-screen zombies
Sounds as though those sketchy reports of Blue Castle going up to 6,000 on-screen zombies in Dead Rising 2 might not have been so batty after all.
Capcom dev boss Keiji Inafune has confirmed that the live-time undead count in the upcoming game will hit four figures, speaking in an official interview.
"In Dead Rising 2, literally thousands of zombies will appear on-screen at the same time," said the company stalwart.
He added: "In the previous version, 500 zombies would appear on-screen at the same time. That's an insane number, considering that only about 20 appeared on screen at any given time in Resident Evil."
It was reported from GDC last year that Blue Castle’s Izmeth Siddeek had said he wanted 6,000 zombies on-screen at once in the game, but no quote was ever published.
Dead Rising 2 will release in Europe on September 3, after a August 31 launch in North America.
