Dead or Alive 5 to be a fighter even newbs can enjoy

In a new developer diary for Dead or Alive 5, project manager Kohei Shibata confesses that's he's not very good at fighters - which is why Team Ninja's new effort is so much fun to watch even if you have no idea what a throw-counter-break-cancel is. Or whatever.

That's not to say the game is a button masher at heart; just that Team Ninja took the "fighting entertainment" motto seriously, and made busy, interactive arenas which are as much a spectacle as the fight itself. Something to look at while you slap your hands uselessly on the control pad and die over and over again, then.

Dead or Alive 5 is due on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September, and has been in the works (or at least, pre-production) for seven years.
