Dead Island to receive extensive day one patch

A few of the detracting niggles dragging down Dead Island's review scores are likely to see correction in a launch-day patch.

Destructoid has posted the substantial patch notes in their entirety; 37 fixes are detailed.

Of particular note is mention of "improved enemy awareness" and "fixed enemy reaction to fire" - several reviews have been critical of the game's AI.

There are a number of fixes to resolve broken quest lines, as well as several others related to issues with co-op play - including one to stop your mates stealing your items.

One note - "Butcher enemies won't spawn at all during escort missions (hooray!)" - even addresses a grumble which escaped many an NDA over the weekend.

Dead Island releases in the US on Tuesday and arrives in Europe later this week, for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
