DayZ's latest test server patch adds disconnect penalties,

DayZ's latest experimental patch adds a queue penalty for players who rapidly switch servers or disconnect, punishing those who exploit others.

The latest test patch is outlined in detail on the DayZ forums.

The key line reads: "Player queuing system introduced. Penalty waiting time added for switching server or disconnecting a server quickly."

In-game, this is likely to result in fewer players moving rapidly in and out of servers, which can be annoying for others.

The patch notes are dense but there are a couple of other changes that will please longterm fans of fair play; for example, you're no longer almost guaranteed to find a backpack on the construction site, which should make early game a bit trickier.

Military zombies have been made tougher, and a new kind of zombie - the Svetlojarsk - has been added.

The patch is expected to be labelled stable by about February 7, at which point it will be rolled out to the core branch of the beta.

Thanks, Ausgamers.
