Darkest Dungeon has a release date set for January

Red Hook Studios has announced a Darkest Dungeon will be leaving Early Access and released in early 2016.

The game was a success on Kickstarter and launched on Steam Early Access in February.

An interim patch will be released around the end of November which contains a new playable hero dubbed the Abomination.

"Designed in collaboration with our Lord tier Kickstarter backer, this bloodthirsty class is unlike anything currently in the game," reads the post on the Kickstarter page.

"Keep your eyes peeled for the full reveal in the coming weeks! This update will also include two decidedly unsettling backer-designed monsters, as well as some other 'goodies'! You can also expect continued hotfixes as necessary."

Darkest Dungeon will be released on January 19.
