If you're going to invade in Dark Souls 3, try to be interesting while you do it.

Dark Souls 3: Friendship Chest is one of the best invasion montages so far

Dark Souls 3, like its precurors, has given rise to many creative and hilarious PvP scenarios. Whether you're rolling in to a comedic scene designed purely to make you laugh (prism stone mining, anyone?) or forced to endure a critique from the possibly apocryphal Fashion Police, the multiplayer scene is bursting with creativity and fun.

For every dull little gank squad there's an honourable fight club. For every newb-eating red phantom there's a delightful troll. Heck, even the hackers have developed a sense of humour so that it's hard to stay mad.

Today we present to you Friendship Chest. The creation of YouTuber Sean Txty, Friendship Chest is kitted out with the Symbol of Avarice, which constantly drains your health. Although he arrives as an invader, his intentions are purely friendly - up to a point.

Writing on Reddit, the newly crowned Mimic Invader discussed his efforts to forge friendly relations with other players and the comfort and joy it brings during the painful birth of a new meta. Also, it's a lot of fun to trick your host and their phantom into dying in unusual ways.

But really, this post is about the 14 minute arthouse cinema experience above. From black and white, subtitled opening to music choices to heartwarming conclusion, it is a glorious celebration of all that is emergent and delightful in the Dark Souls 3 community. It's not afraid to be a bit of an oddball, and I'd watch this over a dubstep montage of parry spam any day.
