Dark Souls 2 pre-orders up 50% on first game

Dark Souls 2 has been pre-ordered 50% more than its predecessor, according to publisher Namco Bandai.

MCV reports that Namco has a $1 million marketing strategy in place to help boost sales of the game, and it seems to be money well spent.

"We have everything going for Dark Souls II,"said Namco Bandai product manager Gary Chantler. "The PR and community teams have been incredibly hard at work since the game was first revealed. They have been working like mad getting the game through the specialist and mainstream press channels.“

Indeed.

I'm playing it right now, and will be publishing a series of articles as a sort-of impressions-in-progress account of the whole game from start to finish, because I'm nuts like that. Stay tuned for that soon.

Dark Souls 2 drops March 11 on PS3 and Xbox 360 in North America, then March 14 across Europe. Are you getting it?
