Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition is free on the Epic Games Store, For the King coming next week

Your weekly free game through the Epic Games Store is now available.

This week's free game on the Epic Games Store is the metroidvania, action-platformer Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition, which will remain available for nada until February 4.

In it, the universe is populated by the oppressed who are on the brink of oblivion. Dandara is tasked with reshaping the world, which is full of mystical creatures and exploration.

Heres' the synopsis:

The world of Salt hangs on the brink of collapse. The citizens, once free spirits, now stand oppressed and isolated. But not all is lost, for out of this aether of fear arises a heroine, a ray of hope. Her name is Dandara.
Defy gravity as you jump across floors, walls, and ceilings alike. Discover the mysteries and secrets hidden throughout the world of Salt and its diverse array of characters. Empower Dandara for combat and survival against enemies bent on oppression.
Awaken, Dandara, to bring freedom and balance to this directionless world.

Next week's free game will be the rather fun For the King. The game is a blend of strategy, turn-based combat, and roguelike elements. Each playthrough is unique with procedural maps, quests, and events.

You can play it in single-player with two AI companions, co-op with one AI companion, or with two other friends. Just beware: if your party wipes, you have to start all over. We learned that the hard way

For the King will be free February 4-11.
