Dance Central: Spotlight for as digiatl-only title for Xbox One

Dance Central: Spotlight for Xbox One was revealed earlier today by US ratings body ESRB ahead of Microsoft's E3 2014 presentation. The game was then confirmed during the conference by Harmonix.

According to the listing, the rhythm-and-dance simulation game will be similar to prior entries in the series.

The ESRB notes that some of the songs contain rather suggestive lyrics, and I honestly had a laugh while reading it.

Some song lyrics contain suggestive/sexual material (e.g., “Baby let me put your panties to the side I'mma make you feel alright,” “First class seat on my lap girl,” and “Tres, we can ménage a three though”). Other songs reference drugs and alcohol (e.g., “As we moonshine and molly” and “And I'm eating at the beat like you gave a little speed to a great white shark on shark week”).

Since I don't listen to this type of music, I had to Google who these lyrics belonged to.

My search concluded that the following artists and songs are included in the game: Kid Ink ft. Chris Brown's "Show Me", Jason Derülo's "Talk Dirty", "Diamonds" by Rihanna, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis's "Can't Hold Us" featuring Ray Dalton.

According to Harmonix, Spotlight brings "authentic dance routines, accurate body tracking using Kinect One, and chart-topping music, with even more variety and player choice than ever before."

Gameplay features up to eight dance routines per song, and choreography for up to two players, along with 10 songs to get you started and you will be able to customize the soundtrack with more than 50 songs - with new arriving each week.

Voice commands such as “Practice That”, “DJ, practice that!” and a Fitness Mode focusing on Strength and Cardio are included.

The core 10 song soundtrack will include the following:

  • “Wake Me Up” – Avicii
  • “Talk Dirty” – Jason Derulo ft. 2 Chainz
  • “Show Me” – Kid Ink ft. Chris Brown
  • “Counting Stars” – OneRepublic
  • “Happy” – Pharrell Williams

It's out in September.
