Criterion Games is no longer making an extreme sports game

The game, shown in a brief rendered trailer that now appears to be offline, was to feature all manner of extreme racing methods, including wingsuits, jetskis and helicopters. It was inspired by go-pro stunt footage.

The game is no more, though. An EA representative has confirmed to Gamespot that the project is canceled, and that Criterion will be focusing on Star Wars and other, unannounced new IP for now.

"While they've moved on from the previous project they've spoken about and aren't pursuing it, they are continuing to build new ideas and experiment with new IP for EA, in addition to continuing to collaborate with other EA studios", the representative told Gamespot.

Criterion Games is involved in making Star Wars Battlefront: X-Wing VR Mission for PlayStation VR. They also worked on the speeder bikes for last year's Battlefront.
