Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Flashback Tapes open up levels which are "devious puzzle rooms"

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will feature levels likened to puzzle rooms.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will feature Flashback Tapes which will open up additional levels in the game.

According to the game's producer, Lou Studdert, the gamescom Opening Night Live live-action trailer hinted at these Flashback Tapes.

These are a brand-new style of level that takes a peek back to the 90s when Doctor Neo Cortex was performing tests on Crash and Coco. This occurred before the events of the first Crash Bandicoot.

They are described by Studdert a "devious puzzle rooms" which can be really difficult. In order to access these levels, players will have to grab Flashback Tapes by picking the objects up in levels. To pick them up, you will have to reach them in the level without dying.

Flashback levels are just some of the over 100 levels which are said to be included in the game.

This is the first new Crash game in over 10 years. In the game, players will take on the role of Crash or Coco along with new playable characters, including Neo Cortex which will “provide an alternative perspective” on the story. The goal is to unite the Quantum Masks which will restore order to the multiverse.

You’ll be able to pick up the Toys for Bob-developed title on October 2.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is only coming to PS4 and Xbox One for the time being, but that could possibly change down the road as Activision has said it is currently “evaluating” additional platforms.
