Counter-Strike's 'Operation Payback' incentive extended, Valve scouting new maps

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's community-led 'Operation Payback' incentive has been extended by developer Valve, in a bid to search and pay creators for the best custom maps.

As we reported here, Valve recently doled out $150,000 to independent map-makers as part of the scheme.

In a blog post penned by Valve, the studio confirmed that the Operation Payback servers will now run until August 31. They were due to close July 31 but we missed the original story. Cheers to PCGamesN for flagging it up.

The blog reads, "We’re looking at a great list of maps that we hope to include in the next operation. If you’ve been working on a map, now is the time to make sure it’s in the workshop and getting votes!"

Until August 31 you can pay $5.99 for the first batch of Operation Payback maps which include, Museum, Downtown, Seaside, Thunder, Favela, Motel and Library.
