Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is free this weekend

A post on the Counter-Strike blog reveals that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be free to play for everyone from now until this Sunday.

The move comes to celebrate the ending days of this year's Electronic Sports World Cup.

Here's the post's description of the event: "In case that confuses you – here are the details. This weekend? CS:GO is free. Download it. Play it. Love it. It’s free. Who knows, we might even put it on sale if you want to keep playing after this weekend." Pretty clear cut if you ask me.

And if you're one of those players who feels threatened jumping into a game with CS veterans, Valve reassures you that "ranked players will only meet Free Weekend players skilled enough to climb into their skill group," so nothing to fear.
