Counter-Strike: Global Offensive heat maps show where 6.5 million bullets were fired

Valve has been keeping track of various player actions during the Counter Strike: Global Offensive beta, and has incorporated some of its gameplay data into a heat map.

"We track nearly every player action, from individual bullets fired to weapon purchases, and the resulting data can be used to help us evaluate game design decisions," said the firm. "A straightforward way to visualize the data we collect is through heat maps. Heat maps can reveal player preferences, choke-points in maps, sight-lines for snipers, and much more."

Through the link, is a a set of heat maps showing the firing locations for the 6.5 million bullets beta testers spent in played de_train.

"Players have fired a weapon in nearly every inch of this map, though of course some locations are more popular than others," said Valve.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive ships for PC, Mac, 360 and PS3 this summer.
