Combat is flashy and bombastic in new Code Vein gameplay trailer

Code Vein continues to look like Soulsborne's Anime sibling, and that's quite alright.

Namco has released a new trailer for Code Vein that highlights how its combat differs from Souls games. Attacks are very much deliberate, and the damage you take when getting hit is high, but there's a layer of finishers and juggles that exists on top of it.

In the video, we see the character go for a finishing move that looks similar to the move you could do in Bloodborne after parrying an enemy. The combat also seems to rely a lot more on ranged attacks than your typical Souls-like.

The companion in particular is big part of this. In the video, she fires off an orb that weakens the enemy before the player goes in to deal big damage. It definitely looks different enough from the standard Souls routine, so hopefully it'll end up being good.
