Closed GAME stores could see UK games market lose £158 million

The closure of 277 stores from GAME two weeks ago when it was in administration could cost the UK games industry at least £158 million, according to new data from firm Kantar Worldpanel. It says the number could be reduced if other retailers and neighbouring GAME shops attract impulse buyers, adding that 65 percent of consumers buy at the retailer, making up for 6% of the industry's yearly value in 2011.

GAME exited administration last weekend thanks to an OpCapita buyout. Via MCV.
