China's online casual game market to hit $750 million in 3 years time


A report issued by iResearch has concluded that  China's Web game market will more than double to $750 million by 2013 as Internet usage expands along with the casual game space.

According to the firm via Reuters, the market for web-based games in China will is expected to balloon to $343.5million this year, compared with $149.1 million in 2009. The user base is expected to hit 25 million by the end of 2010, up from 15.5 million in 2009, and more than 60 million users are expected by 2013.

China's top web game developer is Tencent Holdings Ltd, which creates games like Playfish and Zynga do in the US.

Last week, it was reported by Niko Partners the casual gaming sector could garner 23 percent of overall online use in China by 2014.
