Alpha testing for Camelot Unchained delayed into 2015

Alpha testing for Camelot Unchained has been delayed into February 2015, City State Entertainment has announced.

In a large update posted by studio founder Mark Jacobs, the delay is partly due to being unable to fill most of the engineering openings the studio had until May 2014. The developers had hoped the slots would be filled by the end of 2013.

Due to this, the team is behind on development. However, there is some good news to come out of it for the project's Kickstarter backers should the Alpha be delayed once more.

"If we have to further delay the Alpha beyond that date, we will compensate all of our Backers with a combination of Founder’s Points, CSE Points, and free days of subscription," wrote Jacobs. "The rewards will, of course, be appropriate to whether you are a Builder, Founder and/or lifetime subscription holder, but no matter what your tier, you will be rewarded if we are delayed again.

"While [February 2015] is still the estimated date, if we do not launch Alpha Testing by the end of February, we will be late and will follow-through on our guarantee. While we know we don’t have to promise this, we think it is the right thing to do. Delays happen, but if we are delayed again, well, that means we aren’t doing our job properly."

Jacobs goes on to state that between now and start of the Alpha, Camelot Unchained will be "periodically opened to both our Internal Testers and Alpha Testers for everything from small, focused tests, to more massive stress tests."

Camelot Unchained was successfully Kickstarted in May 2013 and raised $2,232,933 in pledges.
