Call of Duty website tease is certainly very ghostly

In case there was any doubt that Call of Duty: Ghosts is a real thing, the franchise's website has updated with a teaser image which is not so much mysterious as affirming.

The Call of Duty front page now bears an image of a skull logo - a familiar icon to fans of the Modern Warfare series character Ghost.

By signing up you can your avatar to the logo as it slowly fills out.

It's worth noting that the top domain redirects to a URL ending in several underscores - possibly a reference to the fact that the 2013 series entry's subtitle hadn't been formally revealed.

We're kind of expecting Call of Duty to be revealed or at least further teased this week; Activision has previously used the NBA Playoffs as a venue for its first ads, landing ahead of embargoed coverage.

The timing and evidence to date certainly seems to suggest that it could very well happen this month - possibly at the next Xbox reveal.

This year's Call of Duty comes courtesy of Modern Warfare developer Infinity Ward, as it's Treyarch's rest year. It's probably going to release in November, on PC and all major consoles.

Thanks, CVG.
