Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered has been updated with a stack of new customisation items, in a loot drop Activision is calling Operation Arctic Wolf.

Look for weapon camos, reticles, combat uniforms, melee weapons, emblems, calling cards and brand-new characters. For the first time in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, these combatants include women.

Raven Software said the idea of this update is to "allow for a level of personalization that wasn’t possible in the original release" of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2007.

"But of course, we’ve done it very carefully as our highest priority is to retain the balance, aesthetics and player silhouettes in the game," the developer added.

The new items can be crafted using Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered's Parts currency, or obtained through supply drops or grinding.

As a reminder, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is still only available as part of special editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

The December update also delivered seven maps to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, including Winter Strike, which had been a PC exclusive. Special challenges available on this map will help you unlock two holiday weapon camos - Gift Wrap and Ugly Sweater.

A 24/7 Winter Crash playlist comes to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered from December 20.
