Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update coming soon to address claymores, footsteps and more

It looks like we're getting a new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update soon.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players have been waiting for a big update since launch woes and balance problems became apparent. This week might actually be it, according to developer Infinity Ward.

The studio's community manager, Ashton Williams, posted a Tweet confirming that a new update is coming in "the next few days" that will feature stability fixes, and several balance tweaks, including footsteps sounds and calymores.

Although we obviously do not yet have a full change log, multiplayer co-design director Joe Cecot has been dropping hints on Twitter over the past few days in interactions with followers.

As Cecot notes, this will be the second post-launch balance pass for footstep sounds to receive in Modern Warfare, though many would argue the first one had a negligible impact.

Hopefully, this next patch will deliver, as opinion is starting to turn on the game just days after launch thanks to a stagnant meta and numerous bugs. Assuming all goes well, the update will likely drop Friday or Saturday.
