Sliding nerf, and all the biggest changes from the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta to launch

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer at release will be quite different from what we played in the beta.

Treyarch has released new patch notes for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's multiplayer modes, outlining the changes between the launch version and the most recent beta. There is a lot to go over too.

Headlining the changes is a big change to sliding. The move has been very powerful across both the alpha and beta, and despite various nerfs during, it remained too good to ignore. Sliding now has reduced range, speed and a longer stow speed.

"Sliding is intended as an escape mechanic or quick entrance into crouch or cover. It’s not intended to be over-used during engagements, or to be too advantageous in close quarters," the developer wrote.

On the flipside, mantling will be enjoying an increased speed across the board. The controversial new Scorestreak system has received a few more tweaks, too, to once again make lower-tier streaks less spammable, and higher-tier streaks easier to earn for the top players.

The patch notes cover a tonne of new content players will find at launch that wasn't in the beta. This is standard, of course, but it's good to see the specifics confirmed.

Hardcore modes arrive in the form of TDM, Dom, KC, FFA, and SnD. Standard Free-For-All has also been confirmed for launch. On the weapons side, you'll find new arrivals like the FFAR 1 assault rifle, Bullfrog SMG, M60 LMG, DMR 14 tactical rifle and M79 special launcher
