Black Ops Cold War's mid-season update brings new multiplayer and Zombies content next week

As we've come to expect from Call of Duty, the mid-season update for Black Ops Cold War will inject some fresh content into the game.

Treyarch has confirmed that the mid-Season One update for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will arrive on Thursday, January 14. Though full contents of the patch have yet to be revealed, the developer did confirm a few details.

In multiplayer, yet another Fireteam map will be introduced in the form of Sanatorium. The new Dropkick mode, which you may have noticed on the Season One roadmap, will also arrive next week. Dropkick is a 6v6 mode where teams fight to take control of nuclear launch codes.

Zombies, on the other hand, will see the release of Cranked, a new mode where players must kill zombies to reset the clock counting down to their death. The PlayStation-exclusive Onslaught mode gets Raid as one of its supported maps, as well as new Dark Aether intel.

Treyarch did not say if we can expect any new content in Warzone, though the developer doesn't technically manage the battle royale mode. More details about the mid-season patch will be revealed next week, which is when the Warzone specifics will be announced. That said, don't expect anything major - Warzone just got a new map, after all.

On the subject of Warzone, the recent nerfs to the DMR 14, Type 63, Diamattis, and Mac 10 have not been especially well received by players, many of whom don't believe they were far enough.
