Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta trailer is our first glimpse at Blackout battle royale mode

The Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 private beta is fast approaching, and Activision is showing everyone what to expect in a slick new trailer.

The new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta trailer was released overnight, confirming some of the previously revealed information.

As we detail in our Black Ops 4 beta guide, the test is set to kick off this weekend on PS4. Things open up to Xbox One and PC players the following weekend, though there won't be any content changes.

This will be a hefty beta, too, with ten Specialists playable in six maps and across five game modes. The most interesting thing in the trailer isn't the flyovers of the beta maps or the nifty editing, it is evidently the Blackout teaser at the end.

This is our first official look at the battle royale mode, and though it's brief, it does show enough to get you excited. The different character models from Zombies, multiplayer and even campaigns are seen working together.

We get a look at vehicles, both land in the ATVs, as well as air vehicles with the helicopter, which it seems will let you fire from the sides. The trailer also features a few blink-and-you'll-miss-em scenes showing a boat, and a glide suit that'll likely be what players start with.

Various multiplayer maps from Call of Duty: Black Ops history can be seen in this footage, likely making up the various arenas around the map.

The Blackout beta is scheduled for September, so the mode won't be part of the private beta.
