Here's how Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's team is different to Treyarch & Infinity Ward

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare studio Sledgehammer Games has discussed why it operates differently to other Call of Duty teams in a new interview.

It follows Sledgehammer promising a very special Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare E3 2014 reveal in June. Ooh, tantalising.

Now, speaking with Game Informer, co-founder Michael Condrey explained how his team differs from the rest of the Call of Duty hivemind.

“Activision’s independent studio model was, ‘Build the team the way you want to build it. Use the practices that allow you to build great software,’” he began. “It was such a great match, and I think now you’re seeing the fruits of that labor. We’re different than any other Call of Duty studio in terms of how we operate and the culture of our space.”

Sledgehammer was founded by ex Visceral Games staff. One former Dead Space member Don Veca added, “It was very, very difficult leaving [Visceral] but this was a great opportunity. The thing about Glen and Condrey is that you know they’re not going to fail. That’s the way that I’ve felt when I worked with them on previous games. I saw that in those guys. These guys will take us to the finish line. I have total 100% trust in them.”

So there you have it folks, Sledgehammer's apparently being left to its own devices to make something special. Will it pay off? Well, we won't fully know until Advanced Warfare launches on November 4.

What do you think so far?
