Call of Duty: WW2 rolls out gun-tastic gameplay mode for new community event

Call of Duty: WW2's Liberty Strike event has new uniforms, weapons, and a playlist with a gun-swapping twist.

Whether you love or hate Call of Duty: WW2, its hard to deny their post-launch community support is impressively solid. Players have gained free access to new weapons, divisions, and entire maps over the past year - content which is distinct from the standard season pass.

So it's worth mentioning that WW2's latest event, Liberty Strike, has just debuted in-game.

The above trailer focuses on an Independence Day/Allied patriotism tone, highlighting new uniforms, weapon variants, and charms inspired by Allied forces. New weapons are also being added to the game, including an ZK-383 SMG, the De Lisle silenced sniper rifle, an AVS-36 assault rifle, and a Push Dagger melee weapon.

On the gameplay front, Liberty Strike offers the Wanderlust mosh pit. This playlist loads up standard WW2 matches, with a twist: you gain a random weapon each time you spawn or swap weapons. That's an interesting Party Game mode that should attract lots of players.

Liberty Strike is available until July 24 within Call of Duty: WW2 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
