Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have dedicated servers

That headline alone should please many a Call of Duty player.

Not that dedicated servers are a rare thing. But a game like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare having the feature is good news.

News of the dedicated servers was announced in this month's issue of Game Informer.

As Charlie Intel notes, this is even better news considering folks will be matched in cross-play depending on peripheral. The site notes that with cross-play, it will be "important to ensure matches are on better server structure."

You'll be able to try cross-play out for yourself in the Modern Warfare beta. The first session occurs September 19 – 20 and the second one will run September 21 – 23.
