Breath of the Wild: How to Find the Lord of the Mountain in BOTW
The single best horse in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is called the Lord of the Mountain, and can be difficult to find. In this Zelda Breath of the Wild best horse guide, we'll be walking you through the location of the best horse in Hyrule, so you can track down the Lord of the Mountain as easily as possible.

To find your way to Satori Mountain (which some fans have speculated is named after the late Nintendo President Satoru Iwata), either start at the Ridgeland Tower in the Hyrule Ridge region, or the Central Tower in the Hyrule Field region. From the former tower, it's a short journey south, and from the latter, it's a short journey west.
Once your Sheikah Sensor starts going off, you know Link is headed in the right direction, for the Mogg Latan shrine is located near the top of Satori Mountain, albeit with the tip of the mountain separating the two locations.

What you're looking for is a large tree with very light, pink leaves, which is next to a small pond. The Lord of Mountain will appear in this area, but while some claim that the stallion only appears at night, it has been known to appear during the day.
On top of this, the Lord of the Mountain won't just appear under any normal weather. A thick, murky blanket of mist must be covering the entire area in order for the creature to appear, and so if this isn't present, it's worth exiting the area and travelling in the next day using the Mogg Latan shrine as a quick route back onto Satori Mountain.
When the Lord of the Mountain does eventually decide to show up under these conditions, you should have Link equip his best stealth armor possible, such as the Sheikah armor set that can be purchased in Kakariko Village. On top of this, any potions that boost Link's stealth qualities would also be a welcome addition.
As Link approaches the Lord of the Mountain and mounts the beast, he won't have an easy time bringing it under control. It can reportedly take up to two full stamina wheels before the stallion is under the control of Link, so you should definitely make sure you're prepared before attempting this. In addition, the Lord of the Mountain also can't be registered in any stables, meaning you'll have to leave the horse out in Hyrule, and then return to it later when you require its services.
