Breath of the Wild: How to Beat Windblight Ganon
After soaring in the skies atop Vah Medoh, it's fitting that you'll be facing off against Windblight Ganon – seems he finally grasped those winds he coveted... Taking the creature down won't be easy, but follow this guide to beating Windblight Ganon in Breath of the Wild and you'll succeed. If you don't, just keep trying until you do. Or give up, but that would be a bit sad.
Breath of the Wild Windblight Ganon Boss
Windblight Ganon has two phases, just as the other Divine Beast bosses. In his first phase, the attack you want to watch for is a tornado he can summon. There's not much you can do to combat this, so we recommend just running to avoid.
Windblight Ganon's other offensive move is an energy attack he shoots from his arm cannon. You can use a shield parry at the perfect moment (just as it is about to hit you) to reflect it back and cause big damage. It's a bit of a risky tactic though, so take your time and perhaps just avoid these by hiding behind the main terminal, which is in the centre of the arena.
To do damage to Windblight Ganon just keep firing off arrows – elemental are best, but standard ones will work just fine. Aim for his eye to do as much damage as possible, and just be aware of any moves he sends your way. You can use nearby updrafts to fly over and use the slow motion mid-air attacks with the bow to make it easier to hit your shots.
You can do even more damage by getting right under him when he's low to the ground and swinging away at him with your weapon – though that'll make it that much easier for him to hit you. Stay aware and this'll be a good tactic to do a lot of damage to Windblight Ganon.
Windblight Ganon's second phase activates when you've taken away more than 50% of his health, and he becomes much more vicious. He'll also summon four objects that will orbit him, and allow him to use deadly attacks. You can pick these off with arrows, but they'll respawn fairly quickly.
For the most part you'll want to evade Windblight Ganon's attacks here. The tornado move he has will now summon multiple tornados, not just one, making it much more difficult to deal with. His energy blasts will now bounce off of his orbiting satellites too, making them that much harder to deal with. Parrying them isn't much of a good idea in phase two.
His most dangerous move is a charge – wind will swirl around his weapon before charging at you from the sky. Just dodge this, it's move that proves a bit too risky.
Your best options to take him down are pretty much the same as in phase one, but be wary when getting close. Now's the time to use any elemental or bomb arrows you have left, make sure to aim for the eye, and you should succeed.
If Windblight Ganon aims his Guardian laser at you, you can parry it and wind up a big two-handed spin attack to do a lot of damage – if you're feeling brave.
