Breath of the Wild Chaas Qeta Shrine Walkthrough

Just south of Hateno Village in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you can find a Shrine on a small island out to sea. In this Breath of the Wild Chaas Qeta Shrine guide, we'll be guiding you through this particular Shrine in Hyrule as easily as possible.

Breath of the Wild Chaas Qeta Shrine Walkthrough

Sail a raft from Hateno Beach to the Shrine
  1. Before moving forwards into the main area of the Trial room make sure you've equipped your best weapon (an ancient weapon will work best if you've got one - or hopefully numerous in your inventory). Also ensure you've got maximum health and eaten a defence boosting meal like Tough Steamed Meat and ideally a damage boosting snack too. Consult our Cooking and Recipe guide for more info. Weapons that will temporarily disable the enemy will also come in handy, such as ice arrows or the electricity-filled Thunderblade.
  2. He might look funny, but he's deadly!
  3. Once you're face to face with the Trial robot combat is all about avoiding melee attacks (these are very powerful) by dodging and ideally initiating flurry attacks, striking with a disabling attack (ice arrow or electricity weapon) then switching to an ancient weapon to deal some damage. Repeat this as much as possible and hide behind pillars when the enemy retreats to perform a running spin attack. When it crouches down and starts spinning a leash you can fire arrows from distance to disable it.
  4. It's worth stressing how important it is to have a solid inventory of ancient weapons. If you go in with just one it will break well before the enemy is finished off and you'll most likely die while trying to grind down its health using other weapons. Stock up on the good stuff before you start the fight.
  5. The machine's laser beam attack is deadly, but as long as you get in close and circle you should be able to avoid it and mash attacks while it's recharging. If successful you'll be rewarded with an Ancient Battle Axe ++ (Damage 60) and a Guardian Spear ++ (Damage 20). A number of ancient items will also be dropped - you can trade these in at the ancient tech lab in Hateno to upgrade your Sheikah Slate.
  6. The final room houses a chest that gives Climbing Gear, granting Link increased climb speed. Proceed to the end and claim your Spirit Orb.

If you're struggling while roaming around Hyrule you might want to consult our how to kill Guardians guide or learn how to respec Link's health and stamina.

That's all we have on this subject, but worry not as there's plenty more Breath of the Wild content right here on USG. First off, there's this news story on Twitch Plays beating its first Guardian. After that, be sure to head over to our write-up of the awesome Wind Waker easter egg hidden in the game.
