Bravely Second expands the world of Luxendarc but remains a story-driven experience

Bravely Second will expand the game world of Luxendarc but the game will remain a story-driven experience like its predecessor, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy.

Speaking in an interview with Siliconera, series producer Tomoya Asano said exploration wasn't something the team put particular focus on with the original, nor will it with the sequel.

“Bravely Second expands Luxendarc, but it might be slightly different than an ‘RPG with an expansive world you can explore’,” said Asano. "Rather, it will basically be like Bravely Default in that it will be driven by the story.

"Thought processes change depending on the goal of the game, and with Bravely, the thought process is that characters are there for the gameplay and the world is there for the characters."

Asano said the turn-based battle system will remain, as improvements were already implemented into the basic system with Bravely Default: For the Sequel.

Bravely Second was announced back in December, and a western release has yet to be announced.
