Bohemia Interactive announce Arma 2: Army of the Czech Republic

Bohemia Interactive has announced a new installment in the Arma series entitled Arma 2: Army of the Czech Republic (A2: ACR).

Scheduled for release in Q3 2012, the title will see players face off against war criminals like Colonel Miyovic, in order to restore order to war-torn region of Bystrica.

A2: ACR introduces a variety of authentically modeled units and vehicles of modern Czech Armed Forces, including the L-159 Alca, Pandur II, and Dingo infantry mobility vehicle. The new DLC also adds a range of new weapons, including a selection from Czech firearms manufacturer Česká Zbrojovka a.s.: CZ 805 BREN, CZ Scorpion EVO III and CZ 75 PHANTOM.

15 new missions will be added in the singleplayer campaign, scenarios and procedural template gameplay modes, as well as two new summer-season terrains: Bystrica and Bukovina

Bohemia Interactive´s CEO, Marek Spanel, stated that the company is "very happy" for the opportunity to release DLC focused exclusively on its home army, the Army of the Czech Republic. "We want to use this opportunity to pay tribute to all those brave Czech soldiers who are risking their lives in service around the world,” he added.

The title is exclusive to PC, with pre-orders available through Store.bistudio.com.
