Blue Mountain is the latest unearthly unveiling for The Secret World

Funcom has released a new round of foreboding assets for The Secret World introducing you to an area in the MMO called Blue Mountain.

Set within the New England portion of the US on Solomon Island, just to the west of Kingsmouth, Blue Mountain is apparently haunted by a "frightening past" players must discover. The local Wabanaki Indian tribe will provide tutelage in the area's history, as well as information pertaining to a "desperate battle" which was fought there long ago.

The Wabanaki are not as noble as they once were, as the modern era as eroded the tribe's ancient values which have been replaced by greed, thus disturbing the natural balance of the area.

A video featuring Blue Mountain is posted below, and provides the view with a glimpse of locations such as the Franklin Mansion, an abandoned mine, and the Wabanaki nation.

Artwork and screens in the gallery also provide a look at noteworthy locations and some of the horrors stalking Blue Mountain's brooding atmosphere.

The Secret World is due in April on PC.
