Bloodstained team shifts resources around to prioritize Switch performance improvements

The Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night team has shifted its resources in order to prioritize Switch performance improvements.

In an update on the Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Kickstarter page, the game's creator Koji Igarashi stated his team is working to push out the promised optimization update for Switch "as soon as possible."

Team members have been moved around a bit in order to prioritize Switch improvements. This includes additional resources from WayForward as well as assistance from the Unreal Engine team.

"It’s a slow process, and we apologize for the delay. When we do push out optimizations, we want it to be worth the wait," added 505's senior community manager, Jason Ryan.

"Initially we had planned to release a number of small updates to give incremental improvements. After looking at what needs to be accomplished, our goal is to bundle performance improvements into (likely) one patch. Doing so eases the submission process and will result in an overall faster completion.

"Since this is still in development, we don’t have a firm ETA. We will update everyone when we have a more concrete release window."

Because resources have been moved around in order to focus on the Switch version of Bloodstained, the 1.006 update for Xbox One has been moved to the end of August. PS4 update 1.04 has been moved to later in the month, but the IGA Back Pack DLC is available today. The 1.04 update will be released on PC today.

On the Switch front, a small update was pushed out today. Update 1.02 includes bug fixes, balancing, localization improvements, and more. You can look over the patch notes at the link.
