Blizzard announces massive worldwide launch events for WoW: Cataclysm

Blizzard's just announced it's holding massive worldwide launch events to celebrate the release of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

Events will take place in the UK, US, France, Germany, Russia, Sweden, Holland and Taiwan.

"After two years of development, we're excited to now be just two weeks way from releasing our best World of Warcraft expansion yet," said Blizzard boss Mike Morhaime.

"Cataclysm will add a huge amount of new content to the game and change the face of Azeroth forever, and we can't wait to celebrate this launch with players around the world."

The UK launch will take place in Leicester Square at Sound, with proceedings kicking off a 10pm on December 6.

The event will feature "a costume contest showcasing players' attire from the game with great prizes for the winning competitors," as well as "an official licensed merchandise showcase, unique photo opportunities, giveaways and much more."

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm releases on December 7 worldwide.
