Blair Witch Game Endings: How to Get the Good, Bad and Secret Endings

There are multiple endings to reach in Blair Witch. Here’s how to get all of them.

The Blair Witch Game just released on Xbox One and PC. It adds new elements to the lore first established in the 1999 film, and has plenty of forest-based horror to tide you over. There’s also multiple endings, and which one you get will depend on some of your actions while playing through the story. To help you achieve the Take His Face (Bad Ending), and Break The Cycle (Good Ending) achievements, we’ve put together this Blair Witch Endings Guide. We’ll detail exactly how to get each of the endings, and give you a brief description of each in terms of meaning.

Blair Witch Endings

There are two main endings in Blair Witch, and some variations on each of them. There also a secret ending, which we’ll also detail later on in this article. The endings for Blair Witch are as follows:

  • Take His Face (Bad Ending)
  • Break The Cycle (Good Ending)
  • Good Dog
  • Bad Dog
  • Secret

Blair Witch Good Ending: Break The Cycle Explained

Getting the good ending in Blair Witch takes some real work, as you’ll need to follow some guidelines from the very beginning of the game. You’ll need to do the following in order to get the Break The Cycle ending in Blair Witch:

  • Do not leave Bullet behind in the final chapter (more details below)
  • Do not pick up any of the carved figurines you find.
  • During the last chapter, do not follow the witch’s orders. This means not killing the sheriff, etc.
  • Do not kill the enemies hiding in the trees. Instead of using your flashlight, use the camera with night vision to sneak past.
  • Do not destroy any of the totems you find throughout the game.

The good ending for Blair Witch sees Ellis being killed by Carver. This is bittersweet, though Ellis has managed to defy the whim of the Blair Witch and as a result will not become Carver.

Blair Witch Bad Ending: Take His Face Explained

It is highly likely that you will get the bad ending in Blair Witch the first time you play. This is because the game is set up to trick you into it, with the witch manipulating you throughout the game. If you mess up any of the conditions described in the good ending section you will get this ending. Ellis will kill Carver, and become him in the process, imprisoned in the forest to continue the cycle anew.

Blair Witch Good Dog/Bad Dog Endings

As well as the good and bad endings in Blair Witch, the way you treat bullet will also affect the ending you get. You’ll need to pet him, and giving him the treats hidden away in your backpack will help too. Try not to scold Bullet, and make sure you keep close to him throughout the game.

Blair Witch Game: Let the Dog Die/Leave Bullet

During the last chapter of Blair Witch, Bullet will get wounded pretty badly. You’ll follow him into a ravine of sorts, where you’ll be stuck in a looping section. The Witch will write ‘Let Dying Dogs Die’ on the walls, and you’ll have the option to leave Bullet by holding LT. We recommend you just keep walking, as Ellis will eventually lose consciousness and Bullet will live.

Blair Witch Secret Ending

There’s a secret ending of sorts to find in Blair Witch. To do so, you’ll need to unlock the bunker area early on in the game, in the area just before you find the Sheriff’s car. For more info head to our Blair Witch Bunker Code Guide.

That’s all we have so far on the endings for Blair Witch. We suspect there may be more endings to find, so be sure to chack back as we update this page. If you’ve found a different ending while playing, let us know in the comments below.
