Black: "We couldn't make Black 2"

Bodycount boss Stuart Black has told OPM the prospect of revisiting his Criterion shooter, Black, is now an impossibility.

"To me it's kind of like a band," said the developer, speaking in the now-with-subs issue 43. "When we made Black there were certain people, key members of the team, who formed the core band. There are a lot of those people that are working with us now, but there are others who aren't.

"Even if we wanted to, we couldn't make Black 2 in exactly that way, because those people aren't there."

Black released for PS2 in 2006. EA told the mag it's "always flattered" by requests for a sequel, but that Criterion is now focused on Need for Speed.

Black is now heading up the newly-founded Codemasters Guildford, developing Bodycount, a new FPS IP.

OPM's got a stonking feature on Bodycount in its latest issue, so be sure to pick it up.
