Black Ops 4 event Shamrock and Awe has kicked off for PS4 players

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 players on PlayStation 4 can start participating in the Shamrock & Awe festivities from today.

Activision has kicked off two weeks worth of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 fun to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Just for logging in to play, you'll be granted the Precious gesture and an animated calling card. This can be redeemed with Blackjack in the Black Market. Also in the Black Market is the Shamrock Bundle. It contains ten crates, the Glorious Day gesture featuring a triple rainbow, themed warpaint, and a Luck of the Irish Jump Pack.

If you play Blackout, you'll notice the Shamrock & Awe event has changed all smoke to green, and supply drop boxes have been given a shamrock-themed makeover.

The map has hidden "magical bronze pots" which upon being destroyed rewards you plenty of paint cans. You will also find Homunculus Leprechauns running around the place. They are loud, love to dance, and will grant wishes. Give them a poke and they will drop a variety of goodies.

Zombies haven't been left out. Each now feature really green eyes and will offer “mystery” rewards.

Finally, the multiplayer mode formerly known as Fracture is back and known now as Stockpile. Here, enemies drop shamrocks or dog tags once Shamrock & Awe is over. Gather these up and place into your "rainbow-filled Pots of Gold" or deposit sites.

Expect this mode to continue once the festivities have come to an end.

Shock & Awe ends on PS4 March 26 and with other platforms to follow.
