Black Ops 3: two more specialists revealed for new Call of Duty multiplayer

Blacks Ops 3's specialists roster is filling out, with two more characters added to the Call of Duty multiplayer game.

Codenames Prophet and Nomad join Outrider, Reaper, Seraph and Ruin in shaking up Call of Duty multiplayer.

Each has a special weapon and ability that can be chosen before each round to differentiate the character on the battlefield.

First up is Prophet, who carries a Lightning Gun that once charged chains an arc of electricity to all enemies in the vicinity. It works well in all the maps revealed for multiplayer so far, as the small locations can feel oppressive. It's perfect for clearing out a room of opponents and campers.

Prophet's special ability allows him to glitch his location and jump back to a previous location he was at only seconds ago. It's a great defensive move for when times get a little too sticky.

Curiously this is the same ability used by Reaper in our hands on impressions from earlier in the year. Clearly the Black Ops 3 team is still balancing each of the abilities and weapons before release on November 6 so there may be some changes to come.

Nomad's weapon is The Hive. It deploys pod traps that release swarms of drones on an enemy when they get too close. His ability is Rejack, which basically allows the player to self-revive after being killed. Considering how quickly Black Ops 3 now moves (in part due to a range of new movement abilities), it's handy not just for coming back to life, but if you can wait until the last second you can use it to surprise the enemy who thought you were already dead and has moved on.

Both of these new specialists featured in the most up-to-date multiplayer maps on show at E3 this week. A total of nine specialists are promised in the final game.

If you've been sleeping you won't yet know that Sony has inked a deal with Activision for DLC content and extras to appear on the PS4 before the Xbox One, reversing a partnership that goes back years.
