Black Ops 2 will support 3D-enabled gameplay

Black Ops 2 will support 3D- enabled gameplay when it hits retail, Activision has announced.

Starting today, LG and Activision will promote the game in 3D with advertising "across multiple consumer touch-points, including TV, cinema, digital and retail marketing."

Beginning launch night with select retailers, those who purchase a copy of the game along with an LG CINEMA 3D TV will receive a discount. Also, most LG CINEMA 3D TVs come with six pairs of 3D eyewear.

The retail promotion runs from November 13 to November 21, rolls out at over 25 national and regional retailers in the US, totaling more than 2,000 electronics stores .

A 3D trailer of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be shown at select Best Buy retail outlets across the US starting today.

"As game developers and storytellers, we want to take advantage of every opportunity to immerse players in the Call of Duty: Black Ops II experience and LG's 3D technology helps to do just that," said Mark Lamia, studio head of developer Treyarch.

"We are thrilled to team up with LG, which shares this same passion to bring gamers to the edge of their seats with realistic visuals and heart-pounding gameplay. And with LG Dual Play, for the first time ever, two players can each have their own full-screen experience while playing Multiplayer or Zombies split-screen."

LG TVs have a features called "Dual Play," which allows gamers to see two completely different full-screen images on the same screen, at the same time so they don't have to deal with split screen in co-op.

Black Ops 2 launches on November 13 on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 and will release on November 18 for Wii U. The title will also release on Nov. 18, 2012, for the new Wii U™ game system from Nintendo. Call of Duty: Black Ops II is rated "M" (Mature - Blood and Gore, Intense Violence Strong Lan
