Bethesda confirms Skyrim toolset release

skyrim

Although there was little doubt that the mod-friendly developer would do otherwise, Bethesda has confirmed the planned release of a toolkit for Skyrim's engine, Creation.

Writing on the Bethesda forums, a community manager confirmed that a previously announced Creation "kit" is a toolset similar to those released for Morrowind and Oblivion.

"We've always been impressed with what the community has done with our tools. Like the Elder Scrolls Construction Set for Morrowind and Oblivion, we plan to release Creation Kit so you guys can mod Skyrim."

The Creation engine is home to a swag of new features including randomised quest systems and thoroughly overhauled character animation.
