Rebellion has announced Battlezone 98 Redux, a remaster of the classic first-person strategy game.

The re-release hits Steam during northern spring with remastered visuals, online multiplayer and Steam Workshop support.

Rebellion's first externally-developed project, Battlezone 98 Redux hails from Big Boat Interactive, which boasts three members of the original Battlezone development team and helped keep the original game's community strong for years. The Big Boat team will begin communicating with fans via the Battlezone 98 Redux Steam Community hub soon.

This isn't the Battlezone game coming first to PlayStation VR, by the way; Rebellion itself continues work on that one.
