Watch a live recording of the music in Battlefield 5 at Abbey Road Studios

DICE and EA picked a team of talented musicians to record the soundtrack for Battlefield 5, and they did at one of the most iconic recording studios in the world.

The music of Battlefield 5 - and Battlefield 1 to a lesser extent - has been constantly cited as one of the game's high points.

We got a short teaser of just how great it was during the beta, but the full game - available now for some - is much richer in content. Music in Battlefield 5 not only accentuates the important moments in the War Stories campaign, it also features in multiplayer, especially in Grand Operations.

And let's not forget the constant stream of it in the game's menus, making what is typically a menial task more enjoyable.

Westie was lucky enough to be invited to a recording session at London's Abbey Road Studios, where he got to witness live recordings of some of these pieces. The video below features several of the game's tracks, which you'll be familiar with if you played it.

Even if you're not interested in the game, the music can easily hold its own, and it's no less impressive than the cinematic scores we're used to seeing in film.
