Batman: Arkham Origins unlikely to be patched, dev busy with DLC

Batman: Arkham Origins bugs that don't actively hinder story progression will remain unresolved, a community representative for developer Warner Bros. Montreal has said, with some doubt cast on the chances of a patch for quite major issues.

Responding to complaints about bugs on the game's forum, community manager Mercury said Warner Bros. Montreal isn't working on an update which fans dubbed "patch 1.06".

"The team is currently working hard on the upcoming story DLC and there currently are no plans for releasing another patch to address the issues that have been reported on the forums," the representative said.

Mercury went on to acknowledge quite important issues remaining in the current build of the game, while not promising that they will be addressed.

"If we do move forward with creating a new patch, it will try to address the progression blocking bugs for players, not the minor glitches that do not prevent one from continuing to play," they said.

"The issues that are not progression blockers will unfortunately no longer be addressed. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused for some of you, and want to thank you for having been patient."

Batman: Arkham Origins released on PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360 in October last year. Although DLC support continues, Warner Bros. recently cancelled Wii U release plans for additional content.

The Arkham series has been popular enough that an animated movie is on the way. Origjnal developer Rocksteady seems to be working on a new project - maybe a next-gen Batman game?

Thanks, Joystiq.
