Batman: Arkham City Comic Con panel reveals playable Bane, more

In Batman: Arkham City, players can take control of the man who Broke the Bat - Bane. No word on whether bat-breaking will occur. It seems unlikely.

According to details spilled at Arkham City's Comic Con panel, Batman and Bane join forces for a sub-mission arc.

The game's other prominent playable character, Catwoman, got a mention to, re-confirming her appearance in about four hours of gameplay.

During the panel, a new weapon was discussed - a shotgun which electrocutes enemies through their armour. It can also be used to knock them back, sabotage machine guns, charge machines and make magnets.

The Rocksteady team also commented that players will be able to return to failed side-quests with new equipment; the electro-shottie of doom certainly sounds like a good example of something that could open alternate paths and strategies in tricky missions.

Now that the Comic Con recording embargo is up, you can watch the entire panel, as recorded by Gamespot. Check it out below.

Batman: Arkham City is due on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in late October, with a Wii U version to follow.
