Crytek's VR tech demo Back to Dinosaur Island is a free download on Steam

Crytek has released its virtual reality tech demo Back to Dinosaur Island for free.

Back to Dinosaur Island debuted at GDC 2015 in San Francisco earlier this year, as is the basis for the developer's upcoming VR game Robinson: The Journey.

In Back to Dinosaur Island, players view the world through the eyes of a baby dinosaur just hatched in its nest.

Moving their head around, players will see other dinosaur eggs, a 3D jungle environment and will be able to interact with the "elements around them." This includes the other eggs in the nest, a dragon fly and a T-Rex. Hopefully the latter is their mother.

Back to Dinosaur Island is compatible with Oculus Rift Development Kit 2 models and later models. You can download it through Steam.
