The average American games developer earned $79,000 in 2008, a 7 percent increase from 2007’s figure of nearly $74,000, according to a Game Developer magazine report.
The publication's eighth annual Game Developer Salary Survey found that programmers averaged $85,024, artists averaged $69,532 and designers generally brought in $67,379.
